FWIW, this ruling is just pointless. Nothing has happened. The NTRA won't allow such things. Btw, it is NOT Google blocking but Youtube ban for a month. The ruling can be appealed. There are 3 lawsuits (2 against Google, 1 against Youtube). Only the lawsuit against Youtube is concerned here. Please mind that this lawsuit is utterly stupid, not only from a technical point of view but also based on its motivations: the appeals lawyer who filed the lawsuit did so on Sept 18 whereas the trailer was already blocked on Youtube by Google itself on Sept 12. The ruling is thus a "punishement" for not removing the trailer. Whatever this "punishement" thing means. Such a move is simply ridiculous as some Einstein in Egypt is expecting Google to comply with its will and not with US laws... There was the same stupid situation in France when a Jewish student organization filed a lawsuit against Twitter to remove anti-semitic tweets.
At this point, there is no need of campaign, imho. There are more important digital issues to work on -- implementing FOSS is one of them, surveillance software is another, recent developments on information laws also crucial -- so no need to waste time and efforts on a non-event :) Lastly, I disagree with the standpoint that FOSS mailing lists has nothing to do with internet governance. On the contrary: you cannot stay in your own box and cut yourself from other related issues.
