This would be refreshing -- specifications without regard to a specific
technology so we can avoid these 'my language/database bests your
language/database' issues.

I took a peak again at the GEHR paper.  It uses the BON visual representations
and is pretty forceful in suggesting that other models, with the possible
exception of a limited use of UML, are insufficient, at least for the present.

While the tight coupling of Eiffel with BON and the various tools undoubtedly
provides the potential for a powerful modeling and development environment, it
seems to lock in the technologies.  Am I being too short sighted?
