Thanks for your correction. Now I understand "IPMI-compliant" issue.

if it is down, no matter using ipmilan or not, no way thatwe can get
information using IPMI. But when it is up,
ipmilan provides a way for application outside the box to do some useful things
using IPMI over LAN interface, such as get sensor status. In this sense,
ipmilan is
still very useful although it is not IPMI-compliant.
