It's a historical accident. A long long time ago, the plan was to call "Neo1973" both GTA01 and GTA02. The GTA01 was thought of as the "developer" version while the GTA02 was thought of as the "general public" version. If you fail to see the beauty of giving two quite different products the same name, trust me that you're not alone ;-) When Steve joined us, one of the first things he did was to axe this, and give GTA02 its own name. Alas, development had already proceeded pretty far back then, and, since GTA01 and GTA02 were both supposed to be called "Neo1973", this was used as the common name all over the place. I'm not sure we want to do anything about the sysfs names, but we should clean up any kernel-internal uses of "Neo1073" in preparation for the Great Upstream Merge. Holger already did quite a bit of this janitorial work a while ago, so I hope that the remaining changes won't be too messy. - Werner
