IMO :) That is an issue for quite some time now. Personally, I still remember the fight about the year's worth of patches from SVN too lively. I'm not getting into an argument about who prepares releases. Marcel feels quite strong about this, mind you. Just set up a private git fork, get some work (and tests...) done. Marcel is fine with bulk merges if the commits are structured and readable.
