The learning curve on CMake is 1/40th of autotools.

CMake's costs are negative, not positive.  I think this makes it an 
asset, not a liability.  I am not a CPA.  But I had accounting once and 
they told me the sign was important.

I really appreciate you rocking the boat on this.  Someday folks will 
look back and be glad you did.
