Sure, I didn't mean to imply that talks must be that long, only that's
the upper limit. It'd be great if we could hear about as much as
possible, and in this regard I'd like to schedule shorter (10-30 mins)
and even a lightning talk session if we have any takers.

A joint event? As in we run it simultaneously with a teleconference
link? I was going to suggest that we set something up to allow people
to participate remotely on the day anyway. But if it turns out we get
a few people who want to present from London then perhaps this is the
go. But if it's just a couple from the UK, I'd be open to having them
present remotely.

This is a good idea actually. But I'm in two minds about this. If we
get enough interest and presentation submissions to fill that time
(say 7 hours on the Saturday, and then 3 hours on the Sunday morning)
then maybe we do this - otherwise, we could just set the start time to
12PM on the Saturday anyway and run it from 12-8PM and then I was
going to try to arrange a bit of a work/hack session, or further
impromptu discussions on the Sunday morning with whoever is
interested.

The late start on the Saturday would allow people to travel Saturday
morning, and probably be welcomed by all those who are inclined to go
for a beer or three on Friday evening.

Well, we won't need much, but we'll see. I'll get some data on the
most likely date which should firm up the venue options.

Thanks for the input.

Cheers
