while running fusesoc with icarus and then using openocd to connect gdb we found that if the program is not loaded by fusecoc then gdb can load it but continue seems to fail;
If the program is loaded initially by fusesoc then it can be reloaded by gdb and continued. With Verilator this issue is not present. Jose
