We know and agreed for a fact that the already existing standard solution for
obtaining network name i.e. - the name of the CLM cluster object, itself can be
used as the network name but unfortunately we have been stuck with the OpenSAF
default 'mycluster' string! This has to be changed at some point though
(atleast in newer deployments).
Because we are forced to look for workarounds from an already existing
solution, Iam thinking/suggesting that we perhaps could look out for the
easiest option and avoid re-inventing solutions that would become redundant
schemes to obtain the cluster name!
The simplest way perhaps is to introduce an cluster_name variable in the
/etc/opensaf/nid.conf. This mechanism of reading from environment variable can
be used as a temporary solution till the time the OpenSAF's information model
is updated to reflect a more realtime name for the cluster and not just
'mycluster'.

Add the possibility to show network name and CLM node name or node id as an
extension of the already existing way of showing the origin of a log record.
For a detailed description of what to implement see the attached .odt document.
To show/document how this can be implemented the ticket will be complimented
with a series of prototype patches that will be attached when ready
