Using the Yannick Legoc's X3DTK library (available from http://w3imagis.imag.fr/Membres/Yannick.Legoc/X3D/), I've started implementing an X3D loader for OpenSG. So far, it supports primitives (no surprise there *ggg*), IndexedFaceSets with/without normals, with/without texture coordinates (no vertexcolors yet, wouldn't be a problem, though) and Material / ImageTexture - which is not much, but a start ;)

I'm not sure if there's any interest in such a loader around here? If there indeed is, I'm willing to contribute :)

A few words to the background: I've developed the current status of this loader (which will be completed with the respective writer as well) on behalf of the RealReflect project (http://www.realreflect.org), where X3D will be used as the format of choice (mainly for reasons of its expendability). During the course of the project, the loader will be considerably enhanced (and tested) by the project partners (see a list at the RealReflect website). Currently, I've only been able to test my 'first shot' implementation against a few example files I've found at Yannick Legoc's site.
