Hi everybody,

we're working on extending the VolRen lib, and have across a little snag
that would be simplified by removing the support for non-3D textures
from it.

It anybody using the 2D texture modes of the VolRen lib? Does anybody
have a good reason for wanting to keep it? Pretty much every hardware
available now has 3D texture support, so that's not that big a deal. The
one reason I know of is the orientation-dependent performance of 3D
textures on ATI boards, that 2D textures will allow you to get around.

Anything else I missed?

Thanks

        Dirk
