AlanC spent some time early last year on the topic of OS.o & ARC &
Consolidations, which (IMO) where clarification and policy is needed.

With dozens of dysfunctional communities overlapping each other (ON,
ZFS, DTrace...), we seem to have invented a system that promotes chaos
and anarchy over integration and predictability, as well as a culture
that values the potential whims of random participants over the long
term needs of sun-corporate and Solaris.

I'm not sure how to fix things without building a coalition of like
minded fools that all want to run for seets on the OGB...

Without a real ON community, things are hard. Once there is such a
beast, it could simply vote to require ARC approvals before any and all
gate integrations.
