As per the email John Plocher sent out recently and as per: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/arc-faq/arc-alias-usage/ The appropriate location is the project alias for the component, until such times as there is a concrete proposal to be reviewed by ARC. Then the alias becomes appropriate with the case number for that project in the subject. The appropriate alias to get the proposal for star ready to integrate as /usr/bin/star and if desired to replaec /usr/bin/tar and to discuss how to do that and how to deal with compatibility and all the existing features of /usr/bin/tar is: star-discuss at opensolaris.org. I have offered before to be the ARC case sponsor for a fast-track for star integration once the issues with /usr/bin/tar are sorted out. That offer still stands but until there is a proposal on the table ready for submission lets move this discussion to star-discuss at opensolaris.org. -- Darren J Moffat
