Well, the problem is that you seem to mix terms. I recommencd you to start 
reading the manual pages for cdrtools at:

http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/man/cdrecord/cdrecord.1.html
http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/man/cdrecord/cdda2wav.1.html

to understand that the pregap support is easier and better to use in cdrtools 
and that it is more complete except for the ability to _extract_ data from the 
pregap in track 0.
