It's a sign that people are more focused on creating their individual parts of the system than they are in building a system out of all those parts. It is an predictable result of a system that is in a rapid growth phase - getting new things to work at all tends to be more urgent than getting them to build easily.... Rather than complain about it, what can we do to improve the situation? ON has the concept of a common build environment, which is change-managed more strictly than the ON-Gate itself. Maybe there is inspiration to be found there... -John _______________________________________________ opensolaris-code mailing list opensolaris-code@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-code
