There is no "CDE era" Motif. Version 2.1 of Motif is not "ancient and obsolete", as you claim. Motif has been very stable with no major changes. Your "perception" about the messages being meant as references to only Sun's version of Motif are just as invalid as those of Alan Coopersmiths.
Advocacy of software (or anything for that matter) is no justification to accept bald factual lies, and no reason not to inform the appropriate lawyers of such factually false and disparaging claims. You seem to think that bald lies are somehow acceptable conduct---but of course, that's why there are lawyers and courts and commercial disparagement suits. Anyway, no one from Sun has made any attempt whatsoever to correct the false and disparaging statements regarding Motif Section 508 compliance and Motif support status, so its up to the lawyers, now. Good day. --Dean On Sun, 28 Jun 2009, Dale Ghent wrote: > > On Jun 25, 2009, at 12:42 AM, Dean Anderson wrote: > > > I can't speak for those three companies, but their lawyers might have > > some concerns about Sun going around telling people there is no > > support > > for Motif and that Motif doesn't support 508 accessibility > > requirements. > > The feeling I got when reading the initial replies on this thread was > that the Sun folks were speaking within the context of the Motif > libraries shipped by Sun, which are from the era of CDE, not a modern > implementation of OpenMotif or whatever is contemporary.
