The pcn driver is just terrible. Closed. Not at all reasonable.

The ae driver from Masayuki Murayama is what we need :

  # modinfo | grep -i pcnet
  141 f9ac9000   c05c 232   1  ae (pcnet driver v2.6.0)

That thing is rock solid. And open.
