I'm just talking about using an XServe (or even just a Mac Pro) as a Solaris
box, but not running it in virtualization or anything. I'm talking about
turning it into a server running Solaris (and the applications we use). A Sun
server spec'd the way we need it runs around $15,000. I could get a Mac Pro
with even better specs for around $5600 or if I decided to go with the rack
mounting option, I could get an XServe with better specs than the Sun box for
around $8300.

Forgive me if I'm not making sense. I'm not entirely familiar with the
requirements for Solaris 10 (hence my questions), but thought I'd see if this
were possible to save us quite a bit of money.
