A very good question. I'd say "yes", because that increases the
chances they might actually look at the documentation when their old
habits don't work rather than asking on a list why things are broken.

Even more relevant might be the question of whether or not we can
really change it in any significant way, other than by targeting some
specific other system? In which case, do we want to target the
wannabe's of GNU/Linux? Do any of the remaining commercial Unices use
GNU tools by default? The BSD-based systems generally don't even
install them unless you ask for them. The clear leader in the desktop
market - Windows - doesn't provide them.

Personally, I'd argue against trying to look like some other
system. ON should be the best system it can be; not the best imitation
of some other system it can be.
