1) The guy who penned that article for the Reg doesn't know squat. To all intents and purposes, it's pure guess work.
2) The same goes for practically every other "news" site. 3) There has been no independent verification of any of this stuff by any company or any news outlet at all ever, period. 4) All sources point to the same "persons familiar with the matter", period. 5) It's been twisted over the course of a very short space of time to portray a certain truth by the tech press, as a means of boosting hits to their sites to sell advertising. Frankly, I am no longer bothered by this. I made my own enquiries yesterday, and to cut a long story short based on the clear information I received, it's business as usual from here.
