The official "release" opensolaris 2009.06 is pretty old now.  It's still
good, but the debate about the next release is mostly just choosing
precisely *which* release to call 2010.03.  So you might consider one of the
newer developer builds instead:

builds.  It says you can download from genunix.org.
The latest one is:  http://genunix.org/dist/indiana/osol-dev-134-x86.iso

Plenty of bug fixes and new features.  I hate it when I want to do
something, and I find the man page that says "Just type in this" and then I
discover my version is too old to do that.

You boot from the CD, and on the desktop, you'll find the "Install
OpenSolaris" icon.  Launch it.
