i dont know whether i made it clear but im not really up on solaris i only use it for zfs file sharing. heres the output you wanted, took me a while to get it because in this half crashed maintenance mode lots of stuff doesnt seem to work - ie i couldnt mount a usb disk to put the files on so i had to scp it over in the end. does this shed any light on anything - the only two possible things i can think of now are the guy who had the computer before me overclocked it and made some crazy bios settings which only solaris doesnt like. i reset the bios and have tried many settings all to no avail. and the other possible is memory - trying to find some more chips to test it with....
also this sun device detection thing = never heard of it but on a search it seems to be a graphical program ? its only booting to console no x. thanks! -- This message posted from opensolaris.org -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
