AFAIK it's not free, except for a trial period. Last I looked, there were various options, possibly not all that expensive considering you may be putting a fair number of eggs in one basket (the server) which should have maintenance, and compared to that, the cost for the Sun Ray software may not be all that much worse. You have to take a whole bunch of things into account to get the _life cycle_ cost of diskless clients vs Sun Rays; just think about the differences in how they work to get some ideas about that, and about which might work better with your expected workload. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
