Well, I'm not convinced that the preference of any number of Windows users is worth consideration. However, I do have a Debian Lenny installation in a VirtualBox here on SXCE-b99 and just installed vlc on it. In addition to the vlc binary, not even the most recent version, the following were also required: libbdvbpsi4 0.1.5-3.1 [32.7kB] libdvdnav4 4.1.2-3 [74.2kB] libebml0 0.7.7-3.1 [63.0kB] libfribidi0 0.10.9-1 [42.6kB] libiso9660-5 0.78.2+dfsg1-3 [112kB] libmatroska0 0.8.1-1.1 [197kB] libmodplug0c2 1:0.8.4-1 [168kB] libsdl-image1.2 1.2.6-3 [29.6kB] libtar 1.2.11-5 [20.1kB] libtwolame0 0.3.12-1 [56.9kB] libvcdinfo0 0.7.23-4 [128kB] libvlc0 0.8.6.h-4 [462kB] libwxbase2.6-0 2.6.3.2.2-3 [553kB] libwxgtk2.6-0 2.6.3.2.2-3 [2792kB] libxosd2 2.2.14-1.6 [25.7kB] vlc-nox 0.8.6.h-4 [4978kB] vlc 0.8.6.h-4 [1085kB] I somehow doubt that videolan.org would be willing to package all that and pay for the bandwidth required for downloads. > Maybe we could do the same with mplayer as well. You can easily compile it yourself. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
