to install VLC video player, mplayer, and a few other video and music players that I needed on my OpenSolaris 2008.05 test box at work and everything worked fine. It's a pretty brilliant site. It installs the icons on the GNOME desktop and everything all ready for you. I also installed RealPlayer from the official RealPlayer site, but there was no GNOME desktop icon, so I had to make one from scratch. I really want to eventually either compile the stuff from source myself or have these same packages available in the official IPS repository in future post 2008.11 installations of OpenSolaris Indiana if any one around here is capable of making that happen. ;-) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
