You gotta give the ZFS at least a gigabyte of RAM to play around with or it doesn't run very well, at least in my experience. The big jump from needing (I think) 256 megs of RAM to run Solaris 10 to now needing at least a gigabyte for OpenSolaris 2008.05 is explained largely by having a bullet-proof ZFS root file system as the primary new feature in OpenSolaris 2008.05 -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
