This worked great as soon as I figured out what was going on with the bios menu. It cost me a day. The tutorial clearly says choose the drive in the bios but for some reason I thought my box would do that for me. I finally lucked out and hit the escape key noticed that it was trying to boot from the network and poked around until I figured out what was going on.
My terabyte disks were empty so it didn't take very long to re-silver. I tested the worst case scenario by removing the original disk and everything works fine. Thanks again for your help.
