Dude, you don't need to compile anything. This site: http://lifewithsolaris.jp/
is in English and if I remember correctly, it has an IPS package repostitory with the VLC packages. If you're running OpenSolaris 2008.05 (Indiana), I think all you have to do is type in these commands while at the command line: Step 1: use "su" to get the root # prompt Step 2: # pkg set-authority -O http://pkg.lifewithsolaris.jp:10000/ lifeiwthsolaris.jp Step 3: # pkg refresh --full Step 4: # pkg install LWSvlc and then it installs it and it just works (I think that's how I did it). Here is a list of the rest of their packages: http://lifewithsolaris.jp/modules/packages/index.php?content_id=3 If you're using Solaris 10 instead, then download the packages from here: http://lifewithsolaris.jp/modules/packages/index.php?content_id=1 and if you're using Solaris Nevada (i.e. like SXCE or SXDE) then I think you can download them from here: http://lifewithsolaris.jp/modules/packages/index.php?content_id=2 -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
