I have been building a media server and now when I got to the part that I would install an OS I hit a wall.
I can't get SXCE to get past the copyright lines after grub. The installation hangs on "configuring /dev". Timeglass cursor goes around a bit and then nothing. DVD drive stops spinning too. I have tried SXCE snv_101 64-bit and Opensolaris 2008.05 snv_86(?) 64-bit and both give the same result. I have run the installation check tool cd too and hardware checks out ok except for the Realtek onboard NIC but there was a third party driver for it. Configuration: Q9550 Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P LSI 3081E-R HBA SATA card PCI graphics card ATI 3D Rage II+ 215GTB (J)BOD I will try with a PCI-e graphics card later if that makes any difference...
