snv_101 is not really a stable build of OpenSolaris (i.e. the community is still working on making it more polished).
Can you try downloading an older version like OpenSolaris build 86, burning it onto a CD and see if your computer boots up into the OS from the live cd? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
