Ok, I had success with Solaris 10 Generic_137138-09 32-bit CD image. It booted
to the installer and passed the infamous detection point without a hitch but in
32-bit mode. How can I get it to 64-bit mode? Also the DVD image of Solaris 10
isn't booting at all but a DVD image of SXCE did, to a point.

This raises some new questions:

Opensolaris gets all the new stuff first, right? So if Opensolaris is even
"better" that Solaris 10, why won't it get past the detection step?

If I now install Solaris 10 just to get some info on the culprit, what should I
do to get the most? I still would like to install Opensolaris.
