Khaldoun, I think what you are saying is you expect there to be a self extracting media for OpenSolaris. It does not work that way. There are a couple of ways to insatll OpenSolaris, from LiveMedia or from Automated Install (AI). AI is used for network installs. I'd suggest you use LiveMedia. To do this download the iso from here: http://www.opensolaris.com/get/index.jsp Burn the ISO to a DVD or CD (min 700MB). Then boot from that CD by directing the BIOS on your system to boot from the CD/DVD device on your system. This will launch a live OpenSolaris Desktop. On the desktop there is an Icon titled "Install OpenSolaris". Use that Icon to launch the installer.
