hello joev, thank you for your kind answer and reply. i am not sure that you had understand my point. i have the CD of open solaris, dowloaded from the internet. and i have installed the opensolaris OS in my laptop SUCCESSFULLY. and i can navigate the internet through firefox and i can see my e-mails through thunderbird. the OS opensolaris is working fine. BUT whenever i want to install an application, like for example, i like to use the EUDORA mail. i can download the EUDORA mail application on the open solaris, but i cannot install it. the EUDORA app, is .hqx type, so there is no support in the open solaris for the hqx extension file. even some application .dmg, i cannot install it. i want to install flash player, which is .so, even that i could not install it.
the problem is not with the installation of the opensolaris, the problem is that there are not enough application inside to open necessary applications like flash player for example. and i have notice that when i search over the internet for some application for mac, these applications are not working on opensolaris. sorry for nagging on your head, but i have installed the open solaris which is a great OS, but i cannot use it, because i cannot use many applications which i need. like flash player, EUDORA mail ..... thanks again for your support and i hope that you have the solution for my problem. regards -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
