Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place. I figured I should post here since I'm
in need of help.

Excerpt from #xorg:

(21.32.40) alanc: lindsten: OpenSolaris just takes the radeon sources from Xorg
and builds them, so if there's a new version from Xorg, it could be built for
OpenSolaris - but there is no radeon dri for OpenSolaris until someone ports
the kernel driver, so /dev/dri/* won't exist
(21.34.06) alanc: OpenSolaris 2009.06 includes Xorg 1.5.3, xf86-video-ati
6.10.0, & -radeonhd 1.2.4 - the new package set with Xorg 1.6.1.901, ati 6.12.2
& radeonhd 1.2.5 has been built and is in testing/progress for release to the
/dev (development/unstable) repo later this week or early next week
(21.34.37) ***alanc knows how to build & package drivers, not how to
fix/troubleshoot them
(21.36.13) mzz: alanc: you don't happen to know if he should try radeonhd
instead of radeon?
(21.38.40) alanc: I know both are there, so you can try both - I haven't the
foggiest which driver works better on that card

Are you saying that the newer version of the driver that mzz was talking about
will be included in the next development build? Do I have to download, burn and
reinstall to get the latest development build, or is there some other way to
upgrade?

You also said that I can try both radeon and radeonhd. What's the difference
between the two and how do I try the other one?
