Installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 on a Asus A8R-MVP with firmware 0603 (latest) but still get the "WARNING: BIOS microcode patch for AMD Athlon(tm) 64 /Opteron(tm) processor erratum 131 was not detected: updating your system's BIOS to a version containing this microcode patch is HIGHLY recommended or erroneous system operation may occur" warning.
AMD document this CPU bug at http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/25759.pdf Running it via VirtualBox, if that makes any difference. Wondering how the heck I avoid this warning. Is OpenSolaris detecting wrongly, or is the latest BIOS just not up to scratch, or should this warning just be ignored ? Appreciate any thoughts.
