Built-in and the only way to the drives. And I don't have any extra SCSI cards that would be detected... all of the spares that I have are of the same approximate vintage.
I was able to find a Solaris 9 download on Sun's site. I'm going to give that a try just to see if it works. It seems like this is a bad week for Compaq hardware. This problem. As mentioned, the Compaq SCSI support was broken in openSuSE 10.2, and now it appears that while they assured the list that the problem was fixed, openSuSE 10.3 is pretty well damaged as well. Now I'm just praying that I can get Solaris 9 on it and be finished... This message posted from opensolaris.org
