It appears, from what I can tell, that EISA support, and therefore 'smartii', has been removed from the Solaris kernel. Since EISA is gone, it appears that the vendor drivers will not load, as they're dependent on it.
I wouldn't even think of this as a bad thing... a lean kernel is a good thing, and admittedly I'm probably the *only* person in the world who wants to put Solaris 10 on a paperweight. Unless anyone knows of a way to get EISA support back, I'll just assume this is a no-go, and hope that I can offload a bunch of these tanks and pick up a used Sun box.
