OK, then it is not X windows that is causing the problem. Is the machine totally locked up when the blue screen comes up? Can you try pressing the caps lock key a few times on your keyboard to see if it switches the light on and off? Also, if you have another computer available can you try logging in to your OpenSolaris machine using SSH?
