First off, thanks for your help as it is appreciated. I will pursue the Sun
tools route and if things do not work out on this first desktoptop install then
I can still mess around with it on my laptop. I have sampled several Linux and
BSD distros and Open Solaris is what I like best (Gnome is great). Since Open
Solaris is a first public release and the fact that my knowledge of
Unix/Solaris is pretty limited, it is a given that not everything will start
out perfect with the first release. I am not ready to give up and if I have to
be patient with it, then I will do so. Thanks again.
