Just an update on what is causing this message... in libdiskmgt which is what enables the device in use checking for format and other Solaris utilities, it tries to start a sysevent thread. You can't do this in the failsafe environment or when booting off the CD miniroot. This message is as a result of sysevent threads not being able to be started in this environment. Again, this message does not cause harm to format, but it is annoying and uninformative, and to be honest, in this environment libdiskmgt should not be trying to start sysevent stuff. I have filed a bug for this to handle these mini environments better with libdiskmgt. Just wanted to give you a bit more data on this error message. Have you gotten any help on the format/install problem? sarah This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
