hi jabrewer-- yes I did have some multiple installations going on, but I thought I had successfully nuked them all (I booted the snv_75 DVD and selected Initial...)
I did a manual grub boot with kernel$ ... -kv and it appears it can't find /devices. so I guess menu.lst never got populated correctly. http://www.sun.com/msg/SUNOS-8000-AK seems to be the right doc for more info on this. am i right? if I blow out the root partition, would I just boot the DVD again and select upgrade? or just completely reinstall? hehe seems about the same at this point.
