I'm not sure I understand all you said to do at first read but I'll try. First,
the gui asks for a user id before it installs and yes I've always used either
dell owner or hp owner as that id in every attempted install. Dell or hp is the
login depending on which I'm using. I looked back at the install log of snv_77
which I still have running on one partion of the three harddrives in my hp and
it has the same
WARNING: SUNWseuos depends on SUNWi7cs, which is not selected in it.
Like I said though it fully installed. It is (from install log):
Configuring boot device
- Using disk (c3d0) for "rootdisk"
- Creating "maxfree" Solaris fdisk partition (c3d0)
- Using existing Solaris fdisk partition (c3d0)
- Configuring / (c3d0s0)
- Configuring swap (c3d0s1)
- Configuring /second_root (c3d0s4)
- Configuring /export/home (c3d0s7)
Never had a problem running different versions of solaris on same machine you
just cann't have more than one solaris partion on each harddrive. Why does the
solaris grub identify other ntfs or fat32 partions on all other harddrives? It
cann't boot anything thats on a different harddrive. That selection has to be
made in the bios. Bsdfree has a much better grub in my opinion.
I've never tried to submit a bug report still not sure what was the problem so
all I can really say is snv_78 install fails.
thanks again,
john
