Hi Lars, Thanks for the reply. Like you suggested I tried another (80-pin) IDE cable, but the errors are still there. I also tried installing nv82 on another hard disk, but to no avail.
I tried to install Nexenta CP, and chose ZFS as the default filesystem during the installation (you can choose to have either UFS or ZFS). When booting from ZFS, Nexenta would show the same warnings, but they kept appearing in a loop and the OS would never boot up. Reinstalling with UFS gives the warnings, but the OS boots up, just like with nv82. I tried to install indiana preview 2, and sure enough, the warnings kept appearing in a loop, and the OS never booted up, because it uses ZFS by default. It seems I was not alone with this problem, as someone described the same symptoms here: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=31&threadID=36085 Although he says the problem has disappeared since build 75 for him.
