If the linux 32bit kernel is able to see the whole drive, that's irrelevant. Because it's not the solaris or opensolaris kernel. If the solaris kernel says it can't access that whole drive in 32bit mode, take it for granted. You either need a smaller drive, or a different operating system. You could try opensolaris.
