For reasons I won't go into I want to install OpenSolaris on my Intel processor
Xserve. When I put the live disk in it will not boot. I know the disk is good
because other machines will boot from it, and I know the optical drive is good
because the Xserve will read disks and will boot from the OSX Server install
disk if needed. I tried the live disk from 0906 for x86 release and the live
disk for build 134.

Any suggestions that I can try to make this junk machine boot this OS without
running in a VM? All the updates on the Xserve are up to date, so the EFI
firmware is as new as Apple is allowing it to get while running an abandoned OS
(10.4.11).

When I searched for Xserve I only got one hit and it didn't address this issue.
I also need any info in fairly basic terms and steps, I'm not at all an expert
with osol but have a small experience when I was running it on my laptop. That
said it seems more like a hardware issue than an osol issue.

Thanks
