There is no mach64 support in the Solaris Xorg packages for SPARC. You might be able to get something working, like Martin Bochnig did with his SPARC Xorg driver ports, but it's not going to be supported or provided with the OS. Ten years is an awfully long lifetime for a desktop computer, so it's not like the end came quickly (and Solaris 10 will still be supporting it for years to come, so it's not even completely dead yet). > By any chance, can I just set it up with a headless xdm config (i.e., xdmcp > to remote clients, but no local X server)? Yes - 'pkg install slim_cluster' will give you the same set of packages as you'd get from the GUI installer on the LiveCD. You'd then have to enable XDMCP in the gdm configuration, since secure-by-default means that's not enabled out of the box. You can also google for instructions on configuring gdm to run Xvnc instead of Xorg for the default "local" server. -- -Alan Coopersmith- alan.coopersm...@oracle.com Oracle Solaris Platform Engineering: X Window System _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
