        Hi Josh.

        As far as I know, GNU gcc and cygwin are licensed under
licenses which are compatible with the openssl and ssleay licenses, in
that linking is permitted without the viral nature of the license
applying.
        However, I think OpenSSL must always be buildable under VC++,
because it needs to be buildable under VC++ in order to be able to
integrate it into other windows apps which are built with VC++.
