Right, if the cause is indeed thermal noise.

There might be also a variation caused by deterministic side-channel
feedbacks such as power consumption or temperature change depending
on what the processor is doing or poorly filtered voltage containing
frequencies from the environment (such as switching power supply),
but that is getting quite academical ;)

Out of curiosity: Does the picture change if you are running the test
hardware in a refrigerator at -20 degrees celsius and at say
40 degrees? ;)
