I see in an other thread this: "Anything else than Gnome or KDE isn't ready for the desktop anyway. So this is not an argument. If someone knows how to use alternativ windowmanagers, he also knows, how to mount medias by hand. If he doesn't, he will switch back to KDE. That's my experience..."
it's probably true. I didn't yet try 10.1, but on 10.0, switching windows managers is broken (or I had a broken install, wich is possible). the default one is an awfull WMI (better keep twm in this case) and the /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager is not taken in consideration. startx <windowmanager> didn't work neither. However, I already see some linux distribution with others window manager ready to use. in 10.0 startolvwm works and the manager sems pretty complete (nice), but I was not able to start windomaker, wich, I beg, is the very best candidate for installs needing graphics and not powerfull enough for gnome/kde. did I miss something? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
