My only thought for you is to remove and reinstall the intel graphics
driver and go from there. It's worth a shot. You can drop to runlevel 3
with either init 3 or telinit 3 and then run the command line version of
yast "yast2" and search on "intel" to find the video driver. Uninstall
it and reinstall it and go from there.
